Grace, Joy & Wisdom
- American artist Jil McGurn was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1943 and moved to New Mexico with her family in the early 1950’s.
Jil's midwestern smile shines when she teaches.
"We are so blessed that we get to do this: brighten days. We love people into creativity. We see artists born every single day. What an honor."
Jil is primarily a self taught artist with roots from an artist Mother. Jil’s Mother won a scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago and Jil’s Uncles were commercial artists instrumental in creating Kelloggs ‘Snap, Crackle and Pop’ and Morton Salt’s, ‘When it Rains it pours’.
Jil loves the magic of light and the way things look.
Jil's magic as an instructor is profound. She teaches from her heart, and shows new artists how to:
- See differently
- Feel the sensitivity of a landscape
- Appreciate light, depth, space...
- Create what one sees.
“There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of Nature; the assurance that dawn comes after night and Spring comes after Winter. Art opens our eyes to see and our brain to imagine and it is the artist’s job to imagine the most impossible things."
There are places Jil returns to over and over again going deeper, always painting, and deepening her artistic practice.
"A relationship with a place or person is made in layers over a long time. Staying in one place makes me more aware of change. It all begins with a point of light…” -Jil McGurn

Inspiration, Spirit & Abundance
A fine artist and entrepreneur, my passion is inspiring and empowering people to live more creative, authentic, joy filled lives every day.
With that, Yes. I've got a learned background in the arts.
Yet, the most important lesson I learned attending prestigious art institutions was unexpected. (Parsons, Pasadena Center of Art & Design, & Fashion Institute of Technology.)
I learned that our Artist lives in our Naivety, NOT in techniques.
- How viscerally, do you mix paint?
- What colors will you prefer through discovery, not planning?
- Which shapes resonate?
- What are your innate design sensibilities?
- How can forms explain a space or moment?
- Can brushstrokes create ambiance?
- What interactions with other painters feed the process? You see, my students inform my art. Everyday. the expressions you evoke when painting from your soul enriches my own practice.Yes, I've got some skills and awards, am licensed, enjoy being featured in the Press a bunch. Blah Blah.
I'd love to brag about some neat stuff. (If interested, you can see my Resume under About Us.)
I'm interested in asking deeper questions, helping students identify internal blocks to living a richer, more creative life.
I LOVE unlocking the questions holding us back, then sharing tools and techniques to mitigate the crushing, expectant, limiting voices in your head...
...and unleashing The Artist Within!
Hence, Online Santa Fe Art Classes was born!
By the way, we can go REALLY deep during my retreats, speaking engagements, and such.

Laughter, Peace & Fun
Jordan discovered her passion for paper-cut in the summer of 2017 when she started sketching one of her Amethysts.
The shapes she discovered in her Amethyst inspired her to create a series of paper-cut works dedicated to crystals.
Jordan has expanded to focusing on animals, plants, and sacred geometry to promote healing for the environment.
She has joined us recently from Baltimore, MD; a brazen move of a young, vibrant, yearning artistic soul fiercely seeking her beautiful wild in the Wild, Wild West.
We are grateful she showed up when she did, as she is a skilled, loving and kind supporter of everyone's Inner Artist!
