Painting Workshop Instructors
- I learned that our Artist lives in our Naivety, NOT in techniques.
- How viscerally do you mix paint?
- What colors will you prefer through discovery, not planning?
- Which shapes resonate?
- What are your innate design sensibilities?
- How can forms explain a space or moment?
- Can brushstrokes create ambiance?
- What interactions with other painters feed the process? You see, my students inform my art. Every day. the expressions you evoke when painting from your soul enrich my practice. Yes, I’ve got some skills and awards, am licensed, and enjoy being featured in the Press. Blah Blah. I’d love to brag about some neat stuff. (If interested, you can see my Resume under About Us.)
Robbi Firestone Owner & Instructor
A fine artist and entrepreneur, my passion is inspiring and empowering people to live more creative, authentic, and joy-filled lives every day.
Think of me as your Daily Muse; the inspirer of your innate, creative genius!
After 25 years of teaching and 35 of art making, I established Santa Fe Art Classes to serve.
We all have voices telling us, “You Can’t.” I’m the “You Can” Voice. Secondly, I love learning from my students!
With that, Yes. I’ve got a learned background in the arts.
Yet, the most important lesson I learned from attending prestigious art institutions was unexpected. (Parsons, Pasadena Center of Art & Design, & Fashion Institute of Technology.)
I’m interested in asking deeper questions and helping students identify internal blocks to living a richer, more creative life.
I LOVE unlocking the questions holding us back, then sharing tools and techniques to mitigate the crushing, expectant, limiting voices in your head…
…and unleashing The Artist Within!
Hence, Online Santa Fe Art Classes were born!
By the way, we can go deep during my retreats, speaking engagements, and such.

Jil McGurn Instructor
Born in Chicago, Illinois, and moved to New Mexico with her Family in the early 1950s. Jil is primarily a self-taught artist with roots in an artist’s Mother. She has a love of the magic of light and the way things look. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of Nature; the assurance that dawn comes after night and Spring comes after Winter. Art opens our eyes to see and our brains to imagine; it is the Artist’s job to imagine the impossible things. Our painting workshop is the best in Santa Fe, come and join us!
“There are places I return to repeatedly, going deeper. A relationship with a place or person is made in layers over a long time. Staying in one place makes me more aware of the change. It all begins with a point of light….”
She’s been creating art all of her life and has been greatly influenced by the spiritual nature of life, and she has found creativity as a gateway into the inner net of archetypes.
Her work includes but is not limited to painting, drawing, sculpting, writing, floral, tarot, dream, and energy work.
She attended The Art Students League of New York— where she studied portraiture, anatomy, life drawing, and sculpture.
She loves to reflect to her painters, the insight visible of our current state offered by our creations.
